Our Star Theatre Company present Community Musical, Fiddler on the Roof!
Set in the Pale of Settlement of Imperial Russia in 1905, The show sees local milkman Tevye, a father of five spirited daughters, try to maintain his Jewish faith as prejudice rocks his community, and new influences come into the family’s life through the love of his three eldest daughters. This classic musical features the well-known songs ‘Tradition’, ‘Sunrise, Sunset’, ‘Matchmaker’ and ‘If I Were a Rich Man’, amongst an all-round sumptuous score.
With music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and book by Joseph Stein, the original Broadway production won nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, score, book, direction and choreography. It has seen five Broadway revivals and a highly successful 1971 film adaptation and has enjoyed enduring international popularity ever since.
