Ten years on from Armonico’s most successful concert series and CD recordings the ensemble returns with the second part of their collection devoted to choral music from the last 800 years.
The varied programme includes William Byrd’s setting of the Ave Verum Corpus as well as music from his five-part mass. The is coupled with Allegri’s famous Miserere,
John Sheppard’s Libera Nos and music by Rachmaninov, Monteverdi and Elgar, all linked by the timeless chants of the 11th-century
Abbess Hildegard of Bingen.
