Malvern Theatres Young Company was created in 2012 to encourage young people’s enjoyment and participation in the arts and to offer a unique opportunity to be involved in a professionally-led production.  The first year’s show, Little Shop of Horrors, played to an audience of 1,053 and since then the company has gone from strength to strength. Since 2012, over 120 young people have taken part in the company, with a core ensemble of 26 who have appeared in over 3 of the last 6 productions.   Any young person can audition to be part of Malvern Theatres Young Company and participation…

1884-1977 The foundation stone of the Malvern Assembly Rooms was laid by the then Earl Beauchamp on Saturday July 6th 1884. Also present were Jenny Lind, Lady Emily Foley and Dr W. T. Fernie, a local “water cure” doctor and chairman of the board of the Assembly Rooms and Pleasure Gardens Company. In his speech, Dr Fernie said that for a long time past, the want of Assembly Rooms had been felt and that as early as 1883 an offer had been made for the land then known as the promenade gardens. Water Clock Celebrating Malvern’s Industry by Bernard Gitton On permanent display in the circle bar of Malvern Theatres is an eight-foot water clock. The clock was given to the theatre by Malvern’s Elmley Foundation in 2003 and was unveiled by National Theatre actress Janet McTeer at a special reception on the 28th March that year. Present at the reception was French sculptor, designer and horologist Bernard Gitton who invented the clock.
