2025 Play Announcement
We are pleased to announce that Malvern Theatres Young Company’s summer play for 2025 will be small by Holly Robinson.
A compassionate and probing exploration of youth and aging, nostalgia and regret, and the dangers of refusing to get old.
All children grow up, but what if they could grow back down again? A new medical process is being attempted, and it’s got an extraordinary aim: attempting to ‘de-age’ its volunteers back into young children.
The scientists don’t know if it’ll work. The doctors aren’t sure if it should. And the friends and families of those undergoing the risky procedure can’t understand why anybody would willingly do this in the first place… Why would you want to be small again?
OPEN AUDITIONS
We are seeking young aspiring actors to take part in this exciting acting project this summer with Malvern Theatres Young Company.
The project will include a seven-performance run of the play at Malvern Theatres Studio One, a theatre masterclass with an industry professional and a short tour of the play to two local venues.
This is an excellent opportunity for young performers to develop their skills with real-life experience as a working actor in a professional theatre setting.
PROJECT INFORMATION
Applications are open to all ages from 16 – 26 years to audition.

Audition date: Saturday 12th April 2025, 2:30pm – 6:30pm*
Due to the intensive rehearsal process, participants must be available for all of the dates above.
Project participant cost = £340

2025 Musical Announcement
We are excited to announce that the Malvern Theatres Young Company’s summer production for 2025 will be Jesus Christ Superstar! This professionally led experience will be directed and choreographed by Andy Reiss and Katie Leeming of Beyond the Barricade Company.
What’s the buzz? The first musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice to be produced for the professional stage, Jesus Christ Superstar has wowed audiences for over 40 years. A timeless work, the rock opera is set against the backdrop of an extraordinary and universally-known series of events, but seen through the eyes of Judas Iscariot.
