Kaouther Ben Hania’s (Four Daughters) fierce, shattering film asks us to bear witness to the unspeakable suffering of Gaza’s children in the war with Israel.

January 29, 2024. Workers at the Palestinian Red Crescent Society receive an emergency call. A terrified 6-year-old girl is trapped in a car under fire in Gaza, pleading for rescue. Her name, Hind Rajab. Keeping her on the line, the call centre workers do everything they can to get an ambulance to her, but impenetrable rescue protocols get in the way. A striking blend of documentary and fiction, this controversially uses audio from real phone conversations to lay bare the agonising vulnerability and suffering of ordinary people amid horrendous violence.
