The Unwanted is written and directed by Sarah Hutton.

On the first evening in their new home in Malvern, Lucy and Tom hear a knock at the front door and discover that they have a visitor.

What begins as a seemingly straightforward misunderstanding, soon escalates into an evening of confusion, fear and ultimately eerie poignancy, as the couple are forced to confront buried and unacknowledged truths about both themselves, and each other.

Shortlisted for the Malvern Theatres’ Three Counties Stage Writing Competition, The Unwanted is a new piece of writing exploring whether we can ever be sure that the decisions we make are the right ones – or whether we will be forever haunted by the things we did… or perhaps didn’t do?
