We’re delighted to welcome back the National Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company. Created 27 years ago, the company’s annual festival of G&S has long proved a favourite with Malvern audiences and has long received outstanding reviews from the national press, with regular four- and five-star ratings. All performances are accompanied by the acclaimed National Festival Orchestra.
The Pirates of Penzance is filled with witty dialogue, catchy melodies, and whimsical characters. It tells the tale of Frederic, a young pirate apprentice, and his adventures with a band of tender-hearted pirates, a spirited heroine, and an eccentric Major-General. This much-loved favourite offers humour, romance, and dazzling musical entertainment. Directed by John Savournin and featuring Simon Butteriss as the Major-General, this promises to be an evening of outstanding entertainment and uproarious comedy.
