Internationally renowned pianists Martin James Bartlett and Mariam Batsashvili team up for a programme music mixing solo piano and piano duet repertoire.
At the heart of the recital is Schubert’s sublime Fantasy in F Minor for Piano Four Hands. It ends with Debussy’s Petit Suite, also for piano duet. The solo repertoire features Martin James Bartlett playing Beethoven’s celebrated Sonata Pathetique Op.13 and Mariam Batsashvili in Liszt’s electrifying Spanish Rhapsody.
The evening opens with two duet arrangements of movements from Bach’s Cantatas: the opening Sonatina from BWV 106 and Sheep May Safely Graze from BWV 208.
