Ma nuit chez Maud (1969)

The film that truly launched Rohmer.  Pinsharp black and white cinematography portrays an engineer newly arrived in town who bumps into an old friend.  They introduce him to a bewitching brunette; Maud, but he has already seen blonde Françoise at church and decide he wants to marry her.  Will he be tempted by Maud?
