This summer, Malvern Theatres Young Company returns to the stage with Brontë, Polly Teale’s powerful reimagining of the extraordinary and turbulent lives of the Brontë sisters.
In 1845, their brother, Branwell Brontë, disgraced and consumed by addiction, returns to the family home. As his descent into alcoholism and madness threatens to engulf the household, his sisters Anne, Charlotte, and Emily fight to hold their world together, finding escape and resilience through their writing.
In this gripping literary detective story, Polly Teale explores the fractious bonds between the Brontë siblings and the fierce creative drive that would leave a lasting legacy. First brought to life by the acclaimed Shared Experience theatre company in 2010, Brontë offers a compelling glimpse into the complex relationships, passions, and ambitions of three of Yorkshire’s most celebrated authors.
Directed by local actor Toby Burchell, this bold new production showcases the talent and spirit of Malvern Theatres’ own vibrant Young Company.
