President Mariano De Santis – grieving his wife’s death – retreats into isolation within his vast presidential palace, relying on his trusted confidante and comforted by a predilection for hip-hop. Contemplating his past and the uncertain future, he confronts questions of power, love and legacy, as well as moral crises over euthanasia legislation and whether to ‘pardon’ eligible prisoners before he leaves office. Offbeat humour and a fascination for the intricacies of human nature combine in this intimate drama.
