February 19

Mozart at his most soulful and Beethoven at his most joyful. Join the English Symphony Orchestra for a programme featuring Mozart’s effervescent Marriage of Figaro overture followed by his last major work, the radiant Clarinet Concert, performed by the ESO’s own principal clarinettist Alison Lambert. A sublime rarity, Hans Gál’s achingly romantic Serenade for Strings precedes Beethoven’s virtuosic, exuberant and humorous Second Symphony under the baton of Kenneth Woods.

Programme:
Mozart: Overture, The Marriage of Figaro
Mozart: Clarinet concerto K622
Soloist Alison Lambert
Hans Gal: Serenade for Strings
Beethoven: Symphony No.2, op.36, D major
