Great Malvern Festival of Stories
The Theatre of Small Convenience presents this one-day workshop for 6-13 year olds and their grown-ups, taking place at Malvern Theatres in Studio One. Using very basic materials (paper cups, polystyrene eggs, masking tape and tissue paper) students make a colourful puppet with moving arms and head of their own design. This is a wonderful workshop to encourage creativity, empathy and emotional intelligence. Once their puppet is finished, participants are encouraged to discover the voice and character of their puppet.
Led by Russell Dean of award-winning Strangeface Theatre Company. Artistic Director Russell is one of the country’s leading makers, providing masks and puppets for the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, Vamos, Trestle, Geese, Red Ladder, Ben and Holly Live and Billy Elliot amongst many others.
