Audio Described performances are accompanied by a Touch Tour (booking required, subject to availability). Touch Tours take place before the performance and last around 20 – 30 minutes. Touch Tours are free and give an opportunity for our blind or visually impaired audience members the chance to explore the set before the show begins. You can feel the set, props and costumes and familiarise yourself with the voices of the actors and audio describer.
Following a Touch Tour we offer an Audio Described Performance. During an Audio Described Performance, we describe the action happening on the stage, live to you alongside what the actors are saying. This can be done using headphones that you can borrow from our cloakroom. Headsets can be collected upon arrival from our cloakroom with no pre-booking required.
Customers wishing to enjoy an Audio Described Performance may choose to be in their seats 15 minutes before the performance begins in order to hear the full introduction to the piece including a description of the set and costumes.
For the best experience, please choose seats in the centre of the Stalls. Please see our seating guide to help you. We would advise against booking seats in the Circle or in high numbered seats in the Stalls.
Assistance dogs are welcome in all areas of the theatre, including the auditoria or can be left with a member of staff if you wish.
